In the cartoon version of the Lone Ranger, Agnes Moorehead uses her amazing and capturing voice to portray the evil villianess, the Black Widow. This is the episode of, "The Trickster/Crack of Doom/The Human Dynamo," or otherwise known as "The Cult of the Black Widow." The air date, as I know, is September 10, 1966.
These old cartoons are great :)

This version of the Lone Ranger borrowed considerably from the Willd Wild West including some rather advanced steampuck technolgy and a meglomanic genius dwarf.

In a book titled "Alex Toth" the comic book artist who designed characters for Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Herculoids, Shazzan for Hanna Barbera action hero shows, he felt the Lone Ranger cartoon had the best design of TV cartoons at that time. He loved the black design work that most cartoon studios stayed away from! Not until Bruce W. Timm's Batman TAS was there a return to a dark pallete of color for dramatic effect! I remember the dramatic effect of this cartoon, thanks for the memories.

The Lone Ranger is a Damm Good Cartoon, soon they will make it into a movie, with the lone ranger played by a blackman.

I was 10 or 11 in my last year at primary school in Northern Ireland approx. 67/68. At the end of the day on Friday those of us who played recorder (ye gods!) were allowed to watch a double bill of this Lone Ranger and Captain Scarlett on the school's Colour TV - a major event - none of us had colour tv. I still have vivid memories of the Lone Ranger fighting giant robots. Must have been a 60's thing, but I've always regarded it as imaginative (and crazy) as Wally Wood's Thunder Agents.
