Andy Summers - Bemsha Swing (Green Chimneys: The Music of Thelonious Monk 1999). Featuring Dave Carpenter on bass, Peter Erskine on drums, Hank Roberts on cello, Joey DeFrancesco on the hammond B-3 organ, Steve Tavaglione on soprano & tenor saxophones and Walt Fowler on trumpet. Produced by Andy Summers & Eddie King.
@fiddlercrab3 reminds me more of bill frisell or terje rypdal or some ECM electric guitarists, . I recall some of Summer's earlier fusion works where he sounded kinda like allan holdsworth, and when asked in an interview, he said he didn't listen to holdsworth (or like him, for that matter). must be a challenge; as a pop guitarist Summers is a singular, iconoclastic guitarist, a trend-setter, but at jazz, he's just a pup. I like his laconic approach; less notes=wider appeal...
