David Simon sat down at Werner's to talk about how the charms and idiosyncrasies of the city inform his work and the "love letter" he wrote to Baltimore.

  • I've seen Homicide and The wire and came to like Baltimore even though the shows aren't showing the bright side. I'd like to visit some day. Greetings from Croatia.

  • The majority of white people in DC are not really from there. Growing up in Silver Spring and other counties in MD and VA, is not the same as coming up in the District.

  • Baltimore. You either love it or you hate it. Big city environment with a small town feeling. That's what I love about this place.

  • He is so right, the only way to find the best part of true Baltimore is to steer clear of the Inner Harbor in general, it could have been built in any city with some sort of waterfront, and besides that it is not even the nicest part of the city any more.
