  • Dear 240252, I am appalled at your version of history. There was no Eastern Europe those days, Poland was in the centre of Europe, widely respected and admired for its outstanding contributions to science, literature music and painting! Pola was no poor girl who came to Hollywood without nothing, she was a huge STAR in Europe and arrived in Hollywood like a princess! So did Merle Oberon, so Pola wasn't alone. She was considered the greatest actress of the silent era, extremely accomplished!

  • What a wonderful voice and such elegance! Thank you for making me discover her!
