Some of it seems to just be this performance, I've seen a couple other live videos of this song, and he wasn't cutting the words off as short as he did here.

This band and song is awesome but honestly the guy seems to have almost no lung capacity. I know its hard to shout loud and not run out of breath but the words are so much shorter in this video rather than the studio version. Although his voice is impressive live. TOAD ftw..
