fuckin a........vinnie is the man. his drum chops and his style in general is such a match made in heaven with metal guitar. i feel like metal drums of new bands such all sound the same. Vinnie's style is much more about grooving and not just trying to be fast in general.

If you watch the whole interview you would find out that he just took these drums out of the box and started playing, he didn't even adjust them or tune or anything. That's why they don't sound good.

Those drums don't do him justice. In fairness they are shit and should of stayed with Pearl, he could have asked for a Reference kit and nothing else would have touched it. Those toms/floor toms sound awful, if you play with floor toms as toms then it needs to be spot on and these arnt

Love Vinnie, but i would have stuck with Pearl, that gave him the brutal Pantera sound i always loved. I've played my whole life and these are just to cheapish, and have no good clean tones. I noticed metal drummers Dave Lombardo, Richard Christy, Brian Tichy (rock), Shawn Drover and Scott Rockenfield (Queensryche) switched over too. No idea why. Especially when Tichy was using DW!!
Ey, for those of you that think that the drums sound bad.... the drums don't sound bad at all... Drums sound completely different when mic:ed up, this is basically how they sound recorded like this.
This video is obviously geared towards drummers, not casual viewers.
