Maine Lowers Income Income Tax Rate from 8.5 to 6.5 Percent

For the first time in decades, the Maine Legislature has made significant reforms to our states tax code. The new changes will lower the top income tax rate from 8.5 to 6.5 percent for incomes up to $250,000. For those making over $250,000, their top rate will be 6.85 percent.
