@grindingcrustmince belarus cannot survive without russian help (oil and gas for only 30% of the world price)
-
@poitrenaud Well they have been opressing the Polish minority in Belarus for a while. And the Belarusian government appears to support communism.
-
Yes; My friend--That is a big difference-
The "Soviets" don't fight for the freedoms of anyone, Including themselves.
They only fought the Germans to defend their homeland.
Not for freedom.
And, I thank you, and will always hold the Polish people in high esteem.
My wife is Belarusian, anti-communist, and is not sure about their present situation. But Belarus seems to be a kind, quiet and nice nation.
Is it truly still a totalitarian nation?
When I am there, I don't feel it.

@poitrenaud Soviets don't fight for freedom of other countries......
And Poland lost a lot fighting for your France too.

Thanks, God Bless all Free Countries of the World--and we have to fight for freedoms. I hope one day Belarus will truly be free-

merci beacoup! vive l'belarus!

agreed, and thats hurtful, thats fundamentally wrong, it shouldnt be like this and Lukashenko must understand this and revive the language... Belarus shouldnt be a Russian colony and Lukashenko must do something about it
-
it's because the belarrusian language is nearly extinction, not many belarussians speak belarrusian today.
Its essentially the day when the Soviets liberated Belarus from German occupation, hence the banners of hammers and sickles, banners of the Red Army.
If you look at Russia's VG Day parades, their victory banner is essentially a Soviet flag.
