I find her Casta Diva very exciting and well sang. Cigna' s voice has a beauty and majesty that I don't find in Callas's. Ponselle is perfection and sings it perhaps better than Cigna or Callas but Cigna sings this role wonderfully and with that huge powerful voice she floats the top just fine for me.

@filiodecallas Has oido a Claudia Muzio (que fué llamada La Divina antes que Callas)?. O a Rosa Ponselle, de la que la propia Callas decía que quería cantar como ella? Callas fué sin duda una grandísima Norma, pero no la única.

@AulicExclusiva Cigna's huge voice has splendor, which helps her interpretation of the role. I've heard excerpts of her singing from Norma and the dramatic intensity is there. But "Casta Diva" makes special demands which she only partially fulfills, the least satisfactory being the coloratura figures and, as you note, the floating upper register.
Ponselle and Milanov are more successful in this respect. My favorites are Callas, Caballe, and Sutherland. Patti, Sembrich, and Russ are interesting.

A great voice, but she simply can't seem to float the upper register. Everything up there is full-squillante.

Great Cigna !.Big voice and great singer, she owned this role, she sang Norma around 120 times !

I don't know if her recording are available at this moment in the record stores.She recorded Norma studio version with Stignani(1937), Turandot with Merli and Olivero (1938) studio version too.There is a live 1937 Norma Met broadcast, thrilling performance !
