Shire Horse up close - very close

In this field were two Shire Horses.
This is the closest I have ever gotten to such a big animal.
I have technically been this close before, but there was always a fence and there were animal handlers about, so it's not the same.

it was quite nerving to be this close to an animal that could easily kill me.
I mean it would only take one kick from those hooves to cause massive internal injury.
so this is an animal to be respected.
I think he thought I had a sugar cube or a carrot or something because of the way he was sniffing at me. I was surprised when he raised his head and he was inspecting around my left hand. I was carrying a stick, it's possible that the colour of the stick looked like hay or something.

Really put a smile on my face :) And I should think the second Mr Horse suffers from eczema, they are usually covered in the summer if they do, as insect bites can cause irritation and itching. Beautiful, wonderful horses <3
