This is Gongkwon Yusul's Simmubon program No.4.

Gongkwon Yusul(空拳柔術) is composed of law(法), tactics(術), skill(技)and Samwon (三元).

This is the basic motion of human being, and on this basis, all principles of possible motions of human
being are put in conformity with the harmonized relationship between the Taewon(太元) and Yin/Yang
& Five Basic Element Theory(陰陽五行) of Universe/Earth/Mankind(天地人) to train the body and soul
to achieve the highly sophisticated level of law(法), tactics(術), skill(技) on the basis of defense and
offence according to the principle of law that is the survival of the fittest in the nature.

2. Kyeonbeopbon-forms of nine(stage to possess the insight into Gong Kwon Yu Sul by understanding the basics of Kong Kwon Yu Sul)
3. Ipgibon-forms of six(stage to establish one's own techniques)
4. Jwasulbon-forms of five(stage to be proficient in using one's own techniques whatever he or she wants)
5. Waryakbon-forms of five(stage to use Gong Kwon Yu Sul tactics in real fight)
6. Seongdobon-forms of five(stage to discover the doctrine of Gong Kwon Yu Sul and put it into real action)
7. Jonyongbon-forms of five(stage to realize the every use of Gong Kwon Yu Sul and apply it at any time)
8. Bansubon-forms of seven(stage to get back to one's original intention by having correct understanding of the basics of Gong Kwon Yu Sul again)
9. Bangbeopbon-forms of seven(stage to use techniques in the eyes of Gong Kwon Yu Sul)

  • Statechamp86 every single situation will ask for a different technique. I have used this technique and on larger people and it works. Maybe different take downs but the shrimp lock is very universal in application against different size opponents.

  • hopefully the korean military and police adopt this master's teachings into their self defence program. this will change training in korea.

  • @kempobrad thanks for pointing that out. All this time I thought they were some psycho macho dudes taking falls on wood.

  • People who've used similar techs will agree w you. I agree with you. In some ways if the person is bigger it makes this tech easier as opponents legs will be longer and wasier to hang on to.

  • Good teq but very much hard to do vs a good takedown person or someone very much bigger than you.. if you want to post or look at some good self defense stuff goto hapkidotv thanks but always a pleasure watching these guys good work
