While I found this to have plot holes (like uh...why are there bodies when it's shown how people turn into robots with the Queen, and uh...why does it take the queen much longer to turn then the others?), and have some corny scnes (Hardgear drinking blood or whatever, show MULTIPLE times...ugh what where they thinking?) , I still sort of liked it. It could have been much worse. I think it could have been much better, but I guess it's alright. Never saw a Leiji Matsumoto show before this either.

Good Review.

I can see you like Captain Harlock and Galaxy Express 999, but what about Space Battleship Yamato?

...Esmeralda and Maetel are related...who'da thunk it...
Even hearing about lesser Matsumoto works are enough to put me on a high; all I can ask is...isn't it getting cold around your hiking routes?

i'm guessing matsumoto is from that part of japan then.

You like the Leiji Matsumoto series a lot, don't you? It seems like you review his anime a lot.

"Silly as traveling the Galaxy in a police callbox."
Careful what you say Oji. You might get EX-TER-MIN-ATE-ED.

Yeah, you'd think a train station would be more appropriate. ;)
That'd be New Kitakyushu Airport. The Wikipedia's page for the airport has a photo of the robot Maetel. Kitakyushu is where the Leiji Matsumoto museum is being built. There's a delicious irony in creating a "Machine-man Maetel."
