@olivialawuk That's what I hear! I do like Michael Ball very much, but I'm in the states and it's hard to catch anything he does.

I don't really like Hairspray and I think this is a big mis-use of a great talent like Michael Ball. He is such a great singer!

they did to when i saw it, balls stand in sang i can feel the bells, and they had to try four times to continue the song without bursting into hysterical laughter. But i think i must be hard to say those lines an look at the edna character at then not laugh, the audience bursting into laugher making it even harder

According to Gryff Rhys Jones,who let it slip in an interview just before Christmas, Mel Smith is in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. I have nursed people with Parkinsons and they don't usually speak as Mel did on Celebrity Mastermind, it sounded like a palate or tongue problem to me. Gryff should know the truth though. I wish him well whatever is wrong.

So I'm guessing this was early 2008? The reason I ask is that I saw Mel Smith on Celeb Mastermind the other day and was shocked by how he is speaking...how's his health...does anyone know?
