Made in 8 weeks for my Industrial Technology - Multimedia HSC subject, it's a fully interactive walkthrough of the fictional 'AXON Racing Team' and its Tech Centre, Garage as well as a private Testing Circuit.
You will be able to pilot the AXR.1 experimental hovercar prototype using a real-world Logitech Driving Force GT racing wheel which includes Force-Feedback effects for a great driving experience.
It includes a 'Time Trial' styled game mode, where you have to beat a set target time. For lulz, I made a short trophy presentation appear if you win the challenge.
All the assets were created by me in 3dsMax Design '10, Inkscape, Photoshop CS5. The project was coded within the XNA framework using C#.
I did not make the music (F1 2010 by Codemasters), but used it in this project as it is a purely educational endeavour and is not intended for commercial use.

  • this is really great, Im doin HSC media this year and this tops anything I've seen or heard. Were u able to get it pilot marked?? I'm just curious to know becuase our class had trouble with markers struggling to use our stuff (1 guy made a game and they couldn't get past lvl 1). It is fantastic though wat program did u use? and are you thinking of developing this further, after the HSC?

  • @jimm23barclay Thanks, I dunno what you mean by 'pilot marked', I just spoke with with my teacher and he said it checked all the boxes. That's why the collisions aren't that great, I basically spent the rest of the time making it look better. The game is made with XNA, 3D models in 3ds Max Design 2010, textures in Photoshop.

We had to set it up a day before the marking. The surround sound and the Logitech GT worked great.

Apart from a possible Android tablet port, not much is planned for it.

  • wow that was great, and u did that in 8 weeks?!?! wow we have 4 terms to do our major project... and i bet no one will do anything as good as that. well done

  • @TheUltimateShade667 Thanks, it took 8 weeks to finish the entire thing because, like everyone else, I did basically nothing for the first 3 terms :)

  • this looks and I assume works absolutely amazingly. even though the menu has a bit of a codemasters feel like said before. I don't think that is too much of an issue though. The first person perspective is quite well done as well, havn't seen a whole lot of racing games doing that properly. Only issue seems to be collission with walls. Keep up the good work! :D

  • @OGMO11 Yeah, a major influence was the menu system in Dirt2 and F1 2010. I really liked the immersion in those games so decided to use that style to differentiate my game from the rest. Collisions aren't very realistic because it wasn't going to be marked anyway.
