RIGHT this might take a while to explain...
If you're not Scottish you probably won't understand this. On BBC Scotland News (Our national news TV show) there's a presenter (anchor) called Jackie Bird. I grew up watching this woman on the telly and she is a babe.
So my friends dared me to write a song about her. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED.
Here it is. It's a rough version, gonna record it properly sometime. But it'll do for the time being. Piano playing is dodgy, my voice isn't much better. But enjoy anyway! It's not meant seriously, although, she is braw.
Lyrics:
V1:
Every night at 6pm,
On the news, you're there again.
You're the only Girl I could ever rely on.
And every year at Hogmanay,
You would always be there to say,
Happy new year Scotland,
And I loved you.
Pre-chorus 1:
Oh Jackie, Jackie why,
Do you make me cry?
And I cannot deny,
The way I love you.
And I know you'd love me too!
Chorus:
Oh Jackie Bird, just say the word,
And you know that you'll be heard.
A love like this must be shared,
And the world should know just why,
I love you Jackie, please love me too.
Think of all the things that we could do.
But love like this can't come true,
Cause you're so BBC 1 and I'm just so ITV 2!
V2:
You're ginger hair is awfa fine,
I would like to make you mine,
And when you read the news I melt every time.
And when you leave, what will I do?
I've become so close to you!
My 6pm's will never be the same without you.
Pre-chorus 2:
Oh Jackie, Jackie please,
I'm down on my knees!
Oh you're such a tease!
But I stil love you,
And I know you'd love me too.
Never thought I would see the day that a song was written about Jackie Bird. Fair play though, quite catchy!!
