Jewel Song - Faust Contest - Janice Watson

I wanted to use this contest to explain something about what these "contests" mean. I hope that people don't view these as a real contest, so to speak. I wanted them to be a collection of videos where differnt performers sing the same music. I find it interesting to view and listen to a variety of performances. Some people seem to think I want to portray certain artists in a poor light, this couldn't be further from the truth. Even the "worst" singer can provide new insights on a role. She's a wonderful singer. She's done some great work for E.N.O. and she sings very well in English - which is not easy to do. Unfortunately even Wagner sounds like G & S in English! Don't get me wrong. I love G & S, but there's a time and a place for it!

I don't care for the English lyrics at all, but I like that her voice is light and conveys the youth and innocence of the character well.
