Interview with Fred Lynn, former Red Sox center fielder;
Throughout the 1970's, Bill Lee was the ultimate gonzo baseball player, a brilliant left-handed pitcher who flouted every manager or front office executive who tried to control him and who was loved by fans and sportswriters alike.
Blacklisted from professional baseball in 1983, Lee was left to roam the world in search of a chance to play the game he loves. The film follows Lee on a road trip from his farm in Vermont to the impoverished baseball mecca of Cuba and on his triumphant return to Fenway Park.
The Spaceman, Bill Lee. I hope that you have a chance to hear him and his teammates talk. Foreget about Red sox vs Yankees. Bill lee sometimes spoke in Latin, he did the one time I met him- and gave him my old school Latin right back.
I hope you will agree his "Spaceman" movie is cool.. My favorites are Luis Tiant and Fred Lynn. I do not like Lynn so much because he bailed to the Angels and was never the same as with Jim Rice..Rice went to the HOF.
Enough of our sports.
