Peak Moment 110: As a mom of two teenagers, Deborah Lindsay is deeply concerned about their future. As a peak oil educator, she paints a vivid picture of a post-petroleum world, with an emphasis on preparedness. With teens she talks about career choices and practical life skills. With parents, she focuses on safety, economic and energy contraction, and steps to begin now. In 2006 she began the daily talk radio show "Tomorrow Matters - Giving a Voice to a Better Tomorrow" to amplify her message. [www.deborahlindsay.com]

  • Tell your kid as early as possible that their generation's standard of living will be destroyed unless they are extremely wealthy. The earlier the better...

  • Well, she almost managed to hit the nail when she said: "stop having children".

It never ceases to amaze me, how people can say in all seriousness: "we need to think about how we're going to feed 9 billion people". HOW STUPID IS THAT?!?!

It's not a cultural problem. It's not even Peak Oil! It's that everyone in the world thinks they have some god-given right to have as many children as they want, and not have to pay any penalty. The fact is, REAL maturity means living within your means.

  • "Tearing down the American way of life".....that pretty much sums up this liberal agenda!!

  • i know you guys are approaching it in a positive way with reasonable solutions, its great, i m happy you guys care. but i dont think it will reach far. this issue is so damaging and no one wants to look at it, people try to organize it or fix it, but that wont do, it never did anything, people have been trying to better it for decades. i think we will need a complete cleansing and remodel of everything. and doing that is near impossible. maybe peak oil will help us i hope.
