reasons they can pluck: left alone with no mental stimulation. You try sitting in a small cage all day and night and no one talking to you and see how fast you want to pull your hair out.
Disease, or they could end up with itching
Just does it: like little kids and taking off their clothing, it's a form of control.

if i were you i would join a parrot forum where you can learn as much as you can about your bird and in order to clip it's wings i would take it to the vet for that especially if he doesn't let you pick him up yet

That bird isn't really talking...
My lovebird makes the exact same sound and I have never said any such thing to him.
Thats fun! how did you get him to make the sound? Did you just repeat "peek-a-boo" constantly? I lovebird that loves to chill in my shirt (and sleep there) but that is really neat!

I'm not sure. It's my cousin's bird, I'll have to find out. But he does peek-a-boo with himself when he's alone and trying to fall asleep. He'll do that or "good night". LOL

Aw why is he a plucker =(

The original owner before my cousin had him left him alone a lot. And that's what he did to himself. Sad, I know.

why is he missing so many feathers on his back... ;[

He plucks them out. She's tried to do something to stop him, but he won't. There's multiple reasons why birds pluck their feathers.
