I really like the video but I didn't two parts in it. One of the two parts of the video implies that the island is the most Hawaiian island and thus have people who are most Hawaiian. It implies that Hawaiians elsewhere are somehow "less" Hawaiian. The second part is that the narrator (which I think is you?)

the nickname "most hawaiian island" was given to molokai because of the fact that molokai has the highest percentage of native hawaiian residents of any of the major hawaiian islands (of course, except for ni`ihau). we're not trying to say that molokai is more hawaiian than anywhere else, just represent the fact that more hawaiians live here per capita than anywhere else. this is significant, considering hawaiians are no longer the majority on any other island. mahalo for the comment...

mahalo for your comment. yes, talk to all the kupuna whose families go back generations on molokai and they all say that the correct pronunciation is Molokai, not Moloka`i. time to correct the hawaiian dictionary! or at least make room for more than one "right" way. aloha!

Very well done Matt. My favorite part is the solutions section. We all should work together moving forward to pono. Not spend time on criticizing the past mistakes. We all can take your message and work to improve the ahupua'a we live in. It is inspirational to me, and it motivates me to work smarter wihtin my community. Mahalo!

Hello. Yes someone gave the island that nickname but who was it given by? Someone who is oiwi or someone who is not because IMHO I think that statement and that kind of statement inadvertently tries to pit one Hawaiian against another. I personally dont think it should even be used... but I appreciate the video.
