@xXDeadSlaveXx...if you are point-sparring then I would agree with your master, but in Muay Thai, Boxing, Kickboxing, Sanda, Shoot Boxing, etc., hook punches are VERY effective, specially in combination with straight punches and uppercuts. I would just say it depends completely on if you are going for a KO fight or just points in a TKD match.

in championchips it will give you no points. just do straight punch's
