Artist Statement: My goal for this video is to show the way large book and entertainment franchises have transformed young adult literature. As different phases swept over the publishing market, certain types of books were written and published until a new franchise came along. This transformed writers as well. For one thing, writers are now trying to guess what the next big wave in young adult literature will be—another subject which is addressed in my video as I depict what some publishing gurus believe the next surge of books will be.
