@ orignaltommy: One would have to agree that the Dupré house organ was not a world class instrument. In person, it was rather a tubbish sounding beast. All this said, Mme. Falcinelli certain could play the wee-wee out of these pieces. Too bad she didn't have a decent organ in a big room, much as her recordings of the Dupré "Stations of the Cross" ( at Notre Dame, Paris, also on You Tube) would attest to.

I have to respectfully disagree in regards to " every note is there. " Not that she doesn't KNOW the notes, she sure does(!!!), but the instrument is not capable of responding to the virtuosic rapidity with which she plays...by that I mean if she duplicated this performance on, say, a big Aeolian-Skinner for example, it would be earth-shattering and sound far more accurate as the organ would be much more responsive attack-wise. Fact remains though...absolutely STUNNING PLAYING!!!

Per il sottoscritto, che ha avuto il piacere e l'onore di conoscere personalmente R. Falcinelli (a Meudon nel 1998) è una assoluta convinzione che ella sia stata la depositaria dell'arte di Marcel Dupré, e di conseguenza, le sue interpretazioni sono di assoluto riferimento, se non quelle definitive. Pochi sanno che, durante queste sedute di registrazione, Dupré era seduto suo fianco...
