INTRO:
I slowly opened my eyes to a pair of blue ones staring back at me, blinking occasionally. Great, my sister. I never quite knew who exactly she got her eyes from. My mom donned light brown eyes, while my dad had hazel. I guess I was stuck somewhere in between those two. That's the story of my life. Stuck, always stuck. Stuck between two sisters. Stuck between two homes, my parents were split. When would I finally escape this fifteen year prison?

Chapter One: [ How Very Next-Door-Neighborly ]
"Are you up?", questioned my seven year old sister, as she gripped my white comforter.
"No, genius." I snapped. So I wasnt a morning person, and that was quite obvious. But every morning, Arianna, my little sister, would come in my room and wake me up. She was practically asking for the attitude.
Slightly pushing her off of me, I slid out from under my cover. Taken aback by the cold hardwood floor, I quickly slid my feet into a pair of fuzzy slippers set by the side of my bed and glanced at my alarm clock. The LCD screen read 8:03, and my eyes rolled as I let out a sigh. Why did this little brat wake me up so early on a Sunday?
"Mommy said you have to take me next door." Arianna teased. Oh, how she knew how frustrated I must have been that I was awoken with such an order.
"Yeah, and mommy also said Santa was coming this year. But you've been prettttyyyy naughty" I scoffed. Her face turned red as she stormed across the hall to my mother's room, arms crossed. 'Snitch', I thought.
Retreating from the shower feeling fresh and renewed, I slowly strolled to my room, catching the glare of my younger sister from downstairs in the living room. I tied my hair up in a messy ponytail as I pulled a purple tank top over my head, careful not to smear gel from my hair on it, and skinnyjeans. Looking out of my bedroom window, I grabbed a small pebble out of the decoration jar on my windowsill and chucked it at the window across from mine. Just like I had hoped, someone opened the window.
Poking his head through the open window, a boy with curly brown hair responded "Hey you".
"Uh, hey" My voice fluctuated. I just knew that he was aware of how nervous I was.
"Soo . . . another date?"
"What?! Huh?" I was in a daze, and the word 'date' surprised me.
He chuckled as he pushed back a lock of hair that had fallen over his eye. "I meant a playdate, with my brother and Arianna"
I blushed embarrassedly, because I hadnt heard the 'play' part. Only the 'date'. I replied with an "Oh!" and a nod.
I closed my window and ran down the stairs that led to the living room. "Vamos", I said to my sister, as she jumped up and turned the television off. She was excited to see her friend next door, Frankie. Since we moved here, I had always suspected that she had a crush on the youngest brother of the family. But since kids can be shy about crushes, I let my suspicion go unspoken.
I walked down my lengthy driveway and strolled coyly the few feet to the Jonas household. The boy from the window, Nick, greeted my sister and me with warm hugs, and I was absolutely convinced that mine was better than hers. To say the least, I had a huge crush on Nick. But I doubted that he felt the same way about me. We were just friends. And trust me; I have never hated the phrase 'just friends' more.
