ZHANG:
Now a follow up to last year's coverage of anti-Falun Gong violence by communist-linked hate groups in the Flushing area of New York. The attacks have been widely condemned by the general community in Flushing and concerned individuals the world over. We're now getting word that one more of the anti-Falun Gong assailants has been charged with assault.
STORY:
In October of last year, a man by the name of He Xu allegedly committed violent assault against New York Falun Gong adherent Zhang Derong, in front of the public library in New York's Flushing Chinatown.
A Queens court ordered protection for Ms. Zhang, forbidding suspect He Xu from entering her proximity any time before March 12th of this year. He's now also on trial for assault and harassment against Ms. Zhang, as well as against one of the Flushing community's political leaders.
On the afternoon of October 4th, 2008, Flushing 22nd District leader Martha Flores-Vazquez arrived at the area's Main Street and was surrounded by supporters of the Chinese Communist Party who'd been involved in previous attacks in the area.
They believed Ms. Florez Vasquez to be a Falun Gong practitioner herself - and began to physically intimidate her.
Zhang Derong appeared at the scene to record the events, and this is when the suspect He Xu is alleged to have assaulted her. She sustained physical injury and the destruction of her camera.
Police arrived at the scene, confirming injury to Zhang Derong's arm. She was then sent by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
District leader Florez Vasquez has said that the experience allowed her to gain firsthand experience of the spate of hate crimes against Falun Gong practitioners.
After realizing who she was, the assailants are reported to have apologized - claiming that they'd made in error in harassing her, as they believed she was a Falun Gong practitioner. Yet the experience still left a deep impression on Ms. Florez Vasquez.
With the assistance of Ms. Florez Vasquez and other community leaders and representatives, evidence was collected leading to the identification and arrest of alleged assailant Mr. Xu He - he's now also been put on trial for third degree assault and second degree harassment.

All Chinese that come to America and commit hate crimes like this should loose their green cards should go to jail. Then when they get out should then be taken to the airport to be deported back to China. They do not belong here in America. Also, they should not be allowed back into the country. Commie bastards.
