America is not broke and Social Security is good for at least another 30 years. The reichtwing echo chamber would have you believe otherwise so they can further pillage our country and it's citizens. My Govt. professor continually feeds our class right-wing malarkey. She makes the EPA and SS sound like a nefarious institution. They may not be the most efficient agencies, but they do prevent premature deaths, deaths in general, and help in cleaning the environment

This left/right bickering has to stop. The plain truth is that our nation is bankrupt. If you look at the actuaries by 2020 all the money we take in will go towards future promises in entitlements. That will leave money for nothing else. When Social Security started there were over 40 workers per retiree and now thanks to a stagnant economy there are maybe 3 per retiree. The government can't do everything and if they would just leave the fund alone we would be fine.
