i do this since a while but i've never been sure if im supposed to keep my elbows close to the torso or open. What i do is trying to keep elbows as open as i can but sometimes this keeps me for putting more weight on. I mean, open elbows = harder. So, for mass and strenght(i do 6 reps), is it better with open or close elbows?

When I say the v bar doesn't make your biceps tired I am saying that if you only wish to focus lats :)

This one you can actually feel the muscle working when your arms are stretched up and pulling down where as the straight bar you somewhat do not. Also about the v-bar is you hardly get tired from the bicep being worked where as the straight bar it does.
v-bar all the way imo.
