Stage 3 of my final portfolio work, recorded in the Sonic Lab, S.A.R.C, Belfast - Wednesday 27th May 2009
This video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RS2ZI0KObF8 Vocal Portfolio Performance, was Stage 1, the recording was then used to create an electroacoustic composition (stage 2) and so here, we revisit the materials from both Stage 1 and 2, to conclude the portfolio work in a performance.
The material from the previous stages of the portfolio was used in this performance by triggering banks of samples from the QWERTY keyboard on the laptop.
The performance contains use of a Max/MSP patch on a Apple Mac Book, Korg Kaos Pad, Korg Nano Kontrol, Pod X3 Live pedal board, Akai Head Rush pedal, piezo contact mic and Marshall MG50. The performance is built around a loose "Meta Structure", within which there is improvisation, there is also use of a short scored section.
The voice processing and samples from the Mac Book was output through a 4 channel sound card which was diffused around the Sonic Lab.
Note: as this recording is in stereo, some of the 4 channel material is lost.
