I played the arcade machines so much I actually had calauses on my fingers of my left hand from the joystick friction. I had them for YEARS, my doctor even commented on them once. I played ALOT. To this day, I can't play well on anything except an arcade console, the muscle memory is so strong that I instinctively go for controls at the positions they are on an arcade machine. I have the simulator game for PC but I can't seem to break the old playin gstyle.

mate i can tell you about the defender"freeze " because i found it in the game in 1981 in page shops arcade in canberra city
. i met eugene on my o/seas trip in 1993 and in 2000 at the usa amoa shows . . my hiscore on it 8m+ as in 8000000 plus i could have kept going but got kicked out from the arcade a t 1pm .then i got banned altogether contact me and will doing the freeze and my story about the game and its influencing me to become an operator with over 700 machines in australia.....

I play this game on the playstation using the namco arcade stick. Plays like a dream. I overturned Defender 4 times back in the 80's.

:0 i played this game hard back in the 80's ARCADE SCORE = 3& a half million takeing me roughly 3 and a half hours, we could even create slowdown to freeze the arcade machine to freeze, then staret again with a button press, anyone know how you done it contact me for some real kudos points :) Also BOF SPRIGSY AKA PAUL 9NEWCASTLE) PITZZA IF YOU READ THIS CONTACRT ME IT'S GEORGE :).
