Muslims and Christians alike claim to preserve the faith of Abraham. Both claim to have their prophets and their writings which have accurately preserved the revelation of God.

This was the subject debated at Leicester University on Friday 8 May 1998 by Jay Smith, London-based Christian apologist and Shabir Ally from the Canadian Islamic Propagation Centre.

if the bible is so intact why was there a counsel at nicia to chose what books should be cannonized. Why does the KJV have less books then the Bible used by Catholics. The Qur'an only says that the Bible came from God but was corrupted over time to fit the desires of man. Islam respects the Bible and the Torah we just understand what happened to the book over time.

@kamalabbas123 We don't say the quran HAS contradictions, we say that it IS a contradiction. Written by one man over 23 years with zero witnesses. Whereas the bible has 500+ documented witnesses, 3000 years in the making, 40 authors, 66 books all in agreement.

By those facts alone we can discredit the Qu'ran.

If you dig deeper you will find many more problems with the Qu'ran as a whole.

I don't particularly understand why the comment I made on this page critical of the Bible stands while those I made questioning Islam or both faiths have disappeared. I raised a perfectly valid answer to this question. "How about neither?" By reducing this debate to say that only the Bible or the Quran must be "The word of God" you commit what is called a false dichotomy. You put up two answers saying that one or the other must be correct while denying all other possibilities.
