Geography of United States Elections | Lecture 3

October 27, 2008 lecture by Professor Martin Lewis for the Geography of United States Elections (GEOG 5) course. Professor Lewis continues his discussion on the geographical history of presidential elections in the United States, from the Civil War to the Carter and Reagan administrations.

I can't wait for part 4 that brings us up to now! I think the Reagan Revolution is important in understanding what went wrong-- I mean how political parties have changed in the past 30 years.

I've noticed that 1896 is almost a mirrored flip of the 2000/2004 map, and everything the professor said about the two parties in 1896 is also flip-flopped from what the party platforms are today.
