This is a government owned Boeing 727. It is owned by The Republic of Gambia. It apparently suffered a bird strike back in late 2009, and it was decided that it would come to Southend for repairs. Flown in from Banjul, landed at about half past four in the afternoon. Registration: C5-GAF

  • There's a new invention on the market -------- it's called a tripod. !!

  • @godzillasdad haha! i do admit, my video isn't the best. funny you should say this, a lot of people have said to me that i should use a tripod. but, with perimeter fences across many airports in the uk, they are becoming increasingly higher. i have invested in a tripod, and i vow to use it as much as possible now! this video was taken a long time ago, but i see what you're saying. i'm going to stansted next week so a chance to try it out for the first time then! :D

  • @airbusboynat Good luck at Stansted, hope you have fun.

  • Saw a 727 land at southend a week or so ago, anyone else see it?

  • ahhh the classic smoke coming out of the engines, good old days and fond memories :)

  • It's fantastic that you caught a very special moment at Southend, but I want to see more of your videos, where's the one of VP-CJN!?

  • Very soon, we will have planes of that size coming in and out of Southend within two years regurly.
