Give China a chance to develop on it's own and fix it's own internal problems. No one said it was ever ok for China to violate human rights. But change is not an over night process. The United States have struggled to define what "freedom" means for centuries and we still do.
How are you so sure Dalai Lama isn't a self-serving theocratic dictator? Do you know the man personally?

tibet is been funded by the cia. the british wish to cause division in asia. divide and conquer.
and then we have uneducated people who think they know what is going on. the dalia lama has nazi generals from WWII as his top advisor's you moron!

Hi, everyone, I am a Chinese and it's nice to talk to you guys. Some westerners got we chinese wrong, we never thought of genociding any race. Come on, think about it: There are already 1 billion of chinese on the earth, and why would we wanna genocide other ethnic group? We even don't have the motivation to do it.

@tommycapnpants: WOW YOU ARE NAIVE!
Mexican nationals are slowly becoming the vast majority in the American Southwest.
YOU think it's not a surprise that the WHITE politicians have started to play the "illegals" card in the region?
If YOU can't figure it out YOU are either, like I said, NAIVE, or PLAIN STUPID.
-
Also YOU need to answer to the FACT that 90+++% of the Tibetan peoples were SERFs before the aknowledged *egalitarian* Chinese communists showed up in Lhasa......AND that this is NOT the situation anymore........
Until YOU answer this your whole NAIVE "free tibet" has NO meaning..... N-O-N-E.....
Again: YOU ARE VERY NAIVE.
-
AGAIN: YOU are an EXTREMELY NAIVE FOOL.
YOU should pray that the CCP keeps power as a "democratic china" WILL involve political parties PANDERING to the 92% of Han Chinese for HARDER "nationalism".

Real good perspective, to the point, short and gets the message out. Truth is the only weapon as the Dalai Lama would say.

I can understand how some videos stir up Chinese anger.
The fact that this extremely clear and reasonable one managed to highlights a certain insecurity amongst some Chinese if you ask me.
P.S. Notice the word "some".. and remember what the nice man said about being able to dilineate oneself from things. You are not Borg and resistance is not futile.
I watched both your vidoes. I am an overseas Chinese. I think your comments were great but it can be potentially seen as attacking the Chinese people as a whole. In contrary to what you have said about slavery, I don't think it can be a subject one should ignore. Americans had never apologised to the native Africans for the slaves trade and look at the American society nowadays, you just can't resist to think there is enormous racism in it.

yea. it is really horrible that our government never offered a former apology. only now are there steps to make it actually happen. racism is a horrible thing. like everyone else i have felt bitter/pointless hate just because of my skin. i grew up in the philippines and b/c i was white i felt it. when i lived in new orleans i felt it. living in hawaii is actually truly ideal when it comes to race relations. everyone here is mixed :)

Part 1- You only mentioned American atrocities that happened in the past and are benign now. What about the ones that are still relevant? Yes IRAQ. No, you can't just excuse it. But how about the Lakota Nation? Lakota Indians have declared independence. But Bush opposed. Shouldn't they have their nation back if they wanted it?
tim8556 3 years ago
but are they being thrown in jail for wanting independence?

I don't know. Honestly, I hope this world had never gone to war. I don't think fighting for fairness requires one to resorting to violence, cruelness and worst still they were fighting under the banner of Human Right. Now, I have the prob with that. There will always be a proper channel to voice your opinion regardless of how urgent you think you need to be heard. Violence will never be the solution. I saw the footage about the riot in Tibet from diff sources, I mean I was shocked man!
IkSoon 3 years ago
totally agree with you. the violence was a horrible event. you would think that as a species we would have evolved past war/violence many generations ago.
