  • My word, John Wesley, must have been a closet catholic! Jeez, Keith, what a ridiculous title for a video. The bible reads, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me" (Rev:3:20). Not "I break down the door! And I will give you no choice on whether we eat dinner together or not." (By the way, I am not defending the deceptive writings from the Council of Trent, and agree that they misrepresent Grace).

  • @yourbrotherinchrist Westley was in error. Sola Scriptura. As for Rev 3:20 yes Calvinists agree we are ordered to choose, decide and meet conditions. But we believe all of Scripture when it speaks to the fallen inability of man "no one CAN come to me except the Father who sent me draws him" Joh 6:44. Naturally, because of being under sin no one seeks, understands or fears God Rom 3:11,18. We're ordered to choose but Eze 18, 11, 38 and 2Chr 30:5-12 shows we are enabled and caused to choose right

  • false teacher alert!!

  • @FLIPWORLDUPSIDEDOWN3 amen, the people who say we "will" spiritual good unto salvation when we are born dead in sin with total inability due to the fall of our first father adam, are indeed promoting false teachings. "free will" is not true since it says we do things that our fallen nature doesn't allow. It takes the glory that belongs to God for bringing us out of depravity and it gives the credit to man.

  • @yourbrotherinchrist Bro it is not me that misrepresents God's character, but you. You claim that he reveals himself to everyone, but the Bible teaches otherwise. Jesus thanked God for hiding the truth from some and not others. He said hespoke in parables because the truth was not meant for everyone. You claim that God has equal love for all individuals, but the Bible plainly declares that he does not. He hated esau and loved Jacob. That's two different affections for two different people.

  • @yourbrotherinchrist Bro, John 3:16, 1 Tim 2:4, and any other number of verses do not suddenly undo or erase or refute the other verses which speak of God choosing an elect people for salvation for his own glory. ever read Acts 13:48? How about Romans 9? How about John 6:37, 6:44, 6:65?

Acts 13:48 "And when the gentiles heard this they glorified the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed".

They believed because they were appointed, not vice versa.

  • @yourbrotherinchrist Assertions are meaningless bro.

  • @yourbrotherinchrist It' so funny how, when you are corrected in one verse and shown that you used it otu of context, instead of humbly admitting that you were wrong, and learning from a fellow Christian, you immediately run to two more verses and rip THOSE out of context too! Do you really want me to show you how 2 Peter 3:9 actually supports my view, not yours? Because I can! And please, insist that "all men" and "world" means "every individual". Talk about eisegesis.

  • @skalapunk How long will you misrepresent God's character? Calling love, rape! How long will you read the Word of God like Caiphas, thinking that you understand the election of God, when you are in darkness. You try to limit His mercy when it endures forever, and like the Pharisee, by your doctrine, think yourself more righteous than you are. You say "thank you Lord that I am not like unchosen wicked," instead of the earnest plea of the sinner without presumption; "be merciful to me, a sinner."

  • @skalapunk Of course He drew the whole world to to Himself, what would you expect from a God who's character is merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin. He drew Queen Sheba to Him (1 Kings 10:1) the Babylonian Envoys (2 Chronicles 32:31), placed Jerusalem as the center of all trade routes, and therefore said to teach the stranger within the gates of Israel (Deuteronomy 31:12).

  • @skalapunk It is the LORD who sent the plagues on Egypt, sent John the Baptist to Herod, delivered His Son into Pilate's hand, so that they might repent and believe. This is why the bible also reads that "Pharaoh hardened his heart" (Exodus 8:32)

  • @skalapunk The Bible interprets itself; "For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come to the knowledge of the truth." -1 Tim 2:4, "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." -2 Pet 3:9. "For God so loved the world..." Not " For God so loved part of the world..."

  • @yourbrotherinchrist Did God draw the entire world to himself in the OT, or did eh choose Israel alone and reveal himself to them? The latter is true, the former is not. The NT tells us that God left the rest of the world in complete darkness and ignorance, only showing his love to Israel. This the author argues is why Israel had a great advantage.
