Also, I get why people say they found something first so they're the real fans. It's because the sense of pride they have is because they found it by mistake, without the help of someone else and then they see other people come along saying that some other unknown dude is sending them. The point is are the new people fans of the band or the unknown dude, just trying to increase his fame?

The thing is it doesn't matter if people are saying Mumford and Sons sent them here, because Matthew and the Atlas supported them so it makes sense. There's no need to make sub communities unless you're so introverted that you need to feel like part of a smaller one within an impersonal website such as youtube.

If you felt the need to thank a friend that no one else knew you would seem like a douche. Everyone knows mumford and sons now, no one knows who this 'Jack and Finn' are

There are many other posts saying that 8tracks or tumblr or Mumford and Sons brought people here... I don't feel like they are trying to promote them, so much as foster a sense of community within the Matthew and the Atlas community.
