Bodhisattvas in Hell

According to all the world's great wisdom traditions, the secret to happiness is said to be remarkably simple: all we need to do is cherish others, to learn to love as deeply as we possibly can, to the bottomless depths of our souls. These words, however, are as easy to read as they are to write—truly opening ourselves to another human being, seeing through another's eyes and feeling another's heartbeat as our very own, is to embrace the impossible pain of existence. After all, beneath the veneer of day to day life, we all know the same hidden dread, the desperation and loneliness we were all born into. And through the sacred channel of human empathy, the veils of comfort, desire, and separation begin to fall away, slowly revealing the true face of the manifest world: suffering.

Where then, in the sulphur and shadow of this uniquely human hell, is our "happiness" to be found? Effortlessly we watch as the question unasks itself, and the flames of our suffering become just another texture of our salvation—the cool waters of liberation caresses our calloused skin, and together we can finally awaken from this nightmare.

This guy's a fraud. Here's why: I doubt she had to spend that much time picking out particular blankets for each boy. She's being materialistic and it seems like she almost grew an attachment to the blankets. She also just left the blankets at the prison rather than taking initiative and responsibility by giving the blankets to the boys directly. She should have half-assed the blanket selection, and focused on actually giving the boys blankets. She did the reverse and God is telling her that.

To help others requires a sense of attachment to suffering. Suffering  of others but suffering none the less. It is impossible but an idealogy to be completely detached. But it is the only way to be free. Detachment to suffering along with happiness

@vajraloka1 There's stupid people on both sides of the culture war, which I ultimately think is just an elaborate tactic that tptb use to control the populace to keep half of everyone at odds with the other half at all times and in constant disagreement. I think its smart not to pick either side and to treat everyone as individuals. There's cool people that are liberal and conservative, and there's dicks that are liberal and conservative. That's why I see the left-right paradigm as useless.
