The B1A1 Rock Tumbler running 175 pound load. From this end you can see the support rollers, shaft idlers and note the tags I put on the closures so that I can track the contents of each tire and the progress of that load.

  • I may be crazy and you may be crazy but if you build one of these you will polish some very nice rocks. I am running a 1/3 HP motor that turns at 1725 RPM. I started with a 1/2 HP motor turning at 3450 RPM. I am getting a better grinding action with the slower motor and have never loaded down the 1/3 HP.

  • i gotta build this.

  • Building one is great fun. Just Google "b1a1" to visit my website. You can read more about the B1A1 tumbler there and follow the construction process (many photos). Good luck with your machine.

  • I'm going to try something like this but no covers. I'll just check the water level every few days after I get an idea of how long it takes for the water to evaporate.

  • That thing is ultra redneck !! Nice...

  • Looks like you could tumble a large batch with that... Great Idea you have there.

  • you do realise you are a bit crazy, do you not? I'm building one similar- and I'm insane. BTW, how many rpm does that motor run at?

  • I just thought of doing this and I figured Someone must have already done it. Nice work, Someone.
