Honestly. The rapper gimmick would have worked if Vince didn't screw with it. The reason the rapper gimmick worked before was that everyone knew it was a joke, even john cena knew that; thats what made it funny. it was so bad, it was good. The gimmick fell apart when Vince McMahon tried to turn John cena into a credible rapper/thug. Once he dropped the album, released the bad music vids, and changed the WWE title, the gimmick fell apart and people tore him apart.
