Interesting. A few years ago, I remember someone posting a 1981 intro from what I thought was the premiere, and it focused on Studio 54.

I find it funny that "World News Tonight" and "Entertainment Tonight" are used in the same clip, since both shows used Jim Bellows as managing editor.

@VintageTelevision I dunno; ET WAS the only game in town back in the day, but when "Extra" and "Access Hollywood" arrived on the scene in the mid-'90s, the whole aura changed and ET had to step up to the plate in order to stay competitive. And 30 years later, they're still the top dog while Extra and AH annoy me to bloody death!!
