This is a short documentary I shot, edited, and directed about James and Karla Murray -- a married couple who take photographs of New York City store fronts.

  • Great photos and interesting video! You have a new subscriber!

    Thanks for posting!

  • @MrMadscotsman thanks so much!

  • this is a lame excuse of artsy avant garde photography....

  • @Clinton0707 Normally I would agree 100% however in this case I think they're just documenting the stores because they think it looks neat. They aren't pretentious about it at all. The simplicity of the photographs could be seen as an artist statement but at least it's not forced or abstract for the sake of abstraction. For the most part people are attracted to the photographs because they hold a lot of nostalgia and history.

Again, in most cases I would agree, I hate artsy stuff too.

  • @MunroviaPictures you're documentary was excellent! i've gotta say though i don't like their work, i agree with what you said about the history aspect though

  • @Clinton0707 Thanks, I appreciate the kind words and the comments! And about their work, to each his own of course.

  • This is great.

  • @MunroviaPictures I love Artsy Stuff! ;-)

  • Great photo's....Little by little we are losing the "Mom& Pop" stores! These photo's bring back many memories of my childhood of when you walked into a store and you knew the owner by name and he or she knew yours! I remember staring at the penny candy counter for hours and for a quarter I walked out with the largest bag of candy and an ear to ear smile! Those were the days my friend!
