Written by the Spanish composer Alonso Mudarra (1510-1580) originally for the Vihuela. This piece of music is played on a lute hired from the Lute Society(UK). Still saving up for my own lute one day. If I look a bit red on this video it's because it had been a lovely sunny day and I'd spent the morning runnning in the BUPA 2007 Manchester 10K. Great fun: to be recommended! :-)

  • are you left-handed ? because you wear the watch on the other hand

  • @333alegreto333

I am indeed left handed, but that's not the reason I wear my watch on my right wrist. :-)

  • ah okay :)

Good to see that you are a Christian! :-)

You may be too young to have heard of Larry Norman, but I covered

one of his songs on YouTube; a song called 'Moses', my own arrangement.

    Best Wishes.

    Alan.

  • Oh. It's not enough you write songs, have a very nice voice and even play a hired lute. You gotta work in the fact that you can run 10k. You're starting to make me a little ill.

  • I make myself ill all the time, Malafede :-)

Hey, but you're only 111 once in your life!!

    Best wishes.

    Alan.

  • Nicely done, and with a well chosen tempo. Often I hear that it is played too fast - for my feeling.

  • That, is amazing! Do you know where I could get one of these without it costing me an arm??

  • Awesome stuff! I've always had a spot for renaissance/baroque/medieval music, especially where the lute is concerned (probably from listening to so much Jethro Tull growing up, though it's not classical, their version of the bouree from on of Bach's lute suites got me looking further into the music). Do you have any suggestions for an intermediate guitarist interested in learning the lute? I know it's a bit of a commitment if I'm going to purchase a lute, but any advice where to start? Thanks!
