well you're looking at one of them. the other would likely be a clean (press isn't necessary). deadlifts and squats can help alot too but cleans and snatch are really best for explosive jumpjng power. Obviously practice jumps when you can too.

Gotcha, well i'm still learning the O-lifts. And you seem to know what you're talking about. Any chance you'd be able to take the time and give me some form advice on the Hang cleans I uploaded a few days ago? (last video to be uploaded in my channel)

Dropping under or pulling under the weight should be slower than pulling from just below the knees to full extension before the shoulder shrug. The faster speed has to be from just below the knees to full extension. Those acceleration points can only be trained and ingrained properly by pulling from the platform. You can't learn how to do something correctly by doing something else.

I meant speed in dropping under the bar, not speed in terms of how fast the bar is moving. And I wasn't talking about high pulls either lol. I meant snatches from the high hang.

And the coach that i've gone to had me working from the hang, for a couple of weeks before I ever pulled from the floor.

The problem is one has to know how to lift correctly and with the correct amount of acceleration in order to train properly in the first place. All the hang snatches in the world won't increase speed, because that speed is tied to the controlled acceleration off the platform first and then to the strength pulls and 1 second speed squats. You don't see top level lifters using heavy weights for the high pull.

But would high hang snatches not be a good tool to help with someone that needs to work on speed/technique in dropping under?

Yea most people I see doing hang snatches start just below the knees, but I've seen a lot of higher level lifters doing high snatches as well.
