The photography of Mr. Harry Gann. A collection of Aircraft photos taken by Harry Gann. Harry sent me these photos before he passed away and I made this video to honor him. Harry was the master of aerial photography and he set the standards to be strived for by aerial photographers of today. Harry never used touch up technics, computer manipulation or double exposures, just pure genius and talent. Harry was the historian for Douglas Aircraft Company with many many more titles and positions. Harry was, among to many other acomplishments to list here, known as Mr. A-4, (in reference to his involvement with the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk), an honorary U.S. Navy Blue Angel, an honorary Naval Aviator and an honorary Marine Corps Aviator. He is the only man to have ever held all 4 of these honorarium titles. And it was my privilege to call Harry my friend. Harry was also the unofficial photographer for the U.S. Navy Blue Angels flight demonstration team for about 25 years. Harry was a long time friend of my fathers and I met Harry in 1991 when I joined the MCAS El Toro Command Museum, known as, "The Jay W. Hubbard Aviation Museum". Harry was the new Curator and my father, Tom Dozier, was the Director of aircraft restoration for the newely formed official Marine Corps Command museum. Harry, my father and Brig. General Jay W, Hubbard USMC, were the original founders of this museum. The museum has since relocated to MCAS Miramar and is now named the Flying Leathernecks Aviation Museum and is the official United States Marine Corps Command Museum for the Third Marine Air Wing.
Harry could make it happen, and pilots were always to happy to help Harry get the right angle or the right lighting for an inflight shot. As can be seen in many of Harry photos included here. Locations in the photos in this video include, the Pentagon, Mt. Rushmore, Mt. Rainier, Arches National park, Ownes Valley, Mohave desert, NAS North Island, Aircraft Carriers at sea, and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Harry had a real talent, and the influence, to make so many unique photographs happen, and I have tried to include some of the best I have here.

Thank you for posting this tribute to Harry. I met Harry several times while working for Black Shadow Aviation and Roy Stafford. He was truly a gentleman and a man to admire! Semper Fi, Harry!

Harry was in the Army and served with General Patton in the battle of the Bulge. Harry told me about his experience at the battle of the Bulge and it is impressive for such a gentle man to have done so much. Harry had a unique ability to "serve" with each branch of our military forces, and so we could say Semper Fi, Whooa and Anchors Away Harry.
