I most likely won't, because they wouldn't use generic terms with a scientific approach. But this isn't a scientific study of the animal, every nomenclature doesn't have to be the perfectly spot-on, it's BBC wildlife, a show that does short vulgarized video snippets about certain traits of certain animals.

So using "monkey" instead of "ape" works, it's metonymy, it's the use of a word closely related to a concept, other than it's own name, to refer to it. So for vulgarization purposes, it works.

What you wrote is wrong on so many levels I'm inclined to think you're pulling my leg, and I don't even know where to start with just 367 characters remaining.

Apes are apes. Monkeys are monkeys. There are many species of monkeys. There are 6 species of apes (Gibbons, chimps, bonobos, gorillas, orang utans, and humans).

Try to find a clip of Jane Goodall, Eugene Cussons, or any other ape researcher referring to an ape as a "monkey."

    Go ahead. I can wait.

Not so much, "monkey" is a generic term referring to any ape-like animal with arms and legs that swings in trees and the BBC knows that.

It's a crime that that an official BBC video would call a chimpanzee a "monkey" and not an ape, which it is.
