Mark Long, senior software developer at AccuWeather, Inc., talks about the creation of the AccuWeather application. Mark explains the advantages he found in creating the application using Qt Quick — in particular the speed at which he could create the app's UI — and how the technology has enabled him and his team to focus on their app's user experience.

  • na dann mal her mit der version für symbian^3 *g*

  • He's using ubuntu.

  • @curseknight5 Qt is a cross-platform application framework with which one can develop for Symbian, MeeGo, Linux, Windows and Mac.

  • @nokiadevforum

Meego is Linux RPM? UBUNTU is the biggest Linux distro, but DEB based. Many DEB apps are written in QT.

Does this mean that a Nokia app is easily modded for all versions of Linux? What about other operating systems: Android, IOS, Win7, etc?

  • QT is a new secret OS?

  • It's developed using QT right? So it'll be available for the N8? Damn, you guys should've done this for the N8's launch instead of that default one..

  • I really love Qt Quick :) I know how easy is it to port it, please just select the Symbian^3 target :)

    Please :)
