Riding my home built electric bike from Springfield Delaware County to Philadelphia in typical Friday rush hour. Bike is charged with 100% solar from a home made panel.

Video is playing a 5x speed Shot with a GoPro HD set at 1080p

Built with a Wilderness Energy E-bike kit over-volted to 48v nominal, capable of 1000w output. Home made battery built using 130 second hand 18650 li-ion laptop cells wired in a 13cell configuration producing 54.6V and 24Ah all sent through a 40A battery monitor and balancing system.

  • Dude, do you know about this great ebike forum called Endless-sphere ot com?

  • @ambroseliao Yea I have read a few things on there when I was searching for which kit would be best for my application.

  • hey great video!! wow you have some range with that, whats the distance on this run and is this a commute or just a fun run? great quality video as well..well its a gopro HD nuff said!

  • @knoxieman Thanks, this is only a 12 mile commute so it's not that far, huge change in scenery along the way though. I only charge the battery to about 85% of max for longer life. At that charge it will do 20 miles without a problem, I do help it a good amount though, this is not 100% assist.

  • Well well looks like another hub mother on my stomping grounds man we should ride together sometimes even though ill have to keep it slow for you to keep up to me lol, In Philly there isnt many things you can do its like you always have to fight with traffic cause we dont have that many bike paths up here or they cut off into traffic and sometimes forced to jump up on the sidewalk and when you beat the light i stay ahead of the cars that's my routine

  • With all due respect, your riding style is dangerous and illegal: turning left into oncoming traffic, jumping on and off the sidewalk, passing cars on the left, running red lights...!?!??!?!?

I hope you wear a helmet, because you're asking for trouble! Please read up on safety!

    From a fellow bike commuter.

  • Way to go, high score!!!
