Showing off the performance of this ancient Compaq Deskpro computer with Intel Celeron 733MHz processor and 512MB RAM.

Windows 7 Ultimate boots in 1 minute 40 seconds, and the computer is not painfully slow - it is fully usable.
It works pretty good in my opinion.

Note: this is just an expiriment, I just wanted to see how this ancient computer runs Windows 7.
I grabbed this computer from trashbin, by the way.

  • I also did this with my Compaq Deskpro a year ago but it causes a lot of complications with multimedia applications.Other than this i have lost a bios driver ROMPaq which displays COMPAQ at start son anyone can help?

  • Interesting...I had bought a Compaq Deskpro EN Tower that was owned by a schoolboard, judging by the mint condition of the tower and pheripherals, it must have been used very sparingly. It was $20, I could have taken the original 17 inch CRT but they are too bulky for me. The specs of mine are Pentium 3 933Mhz, 512MB PC133 RAM, 20GB 7200RPM IDE HD, Intel 82815 video. I have XP SP3 installed, runs just fine.

  • from trash bin wow nice find
