A Quick Review Of The Symbolism Behind Soul Blazer: The SNES game, "Soul Blazer", released in both Japan & North America in the year 1992, upon my further reflection, is truly a game highly rich in higher forms of symbolism throughout it.
I'm just pointing out really basic themes in a CHILDREN'S GAME - just look at the text, it's at a very elementary vocabulary level. The point is that, as Dr. Bernays points out in his book, "Propaganda" (1929), all propaganda we absorb in our lifetimes influences the way we act & think at the present. It all has to come from somewhere.
Now, one might point out that at the unconscious level, I may have ended up processing this information, and it was not until the age of 25 years old that I actually began to consciously realize the deeper meanings behind what one would ordinarily consider to be 'just another children's game'.
Notice most brilliantly, especially since the main protagonist begins his quest upon the center of it, that the alter screen is in the shape of a "Sun Cross", the game is absolutely full of sun-worship symbolism throughout it, as well as allegories to Plato's 'Rational Soul' (hinted at by the main character deriving from the "Sky/Higher Faculties"). I suppose this series would be most appreciated by individuals with very high fluid intelligence, who can put everything together to make sense as a whole.
I hope you enjoy my multiple segment review of what I view are the most poignient parts of the game. I wish I had the time to go over all of it with you all, but alas, time is always limited......
Sincerely,
Dr. John LaPaglia
the theme to me would seem that everything comes from the same source, all is energy
