Welcome to the studio. Grab a glass of wine or a pop and a bite to eat. Kick up your feet and get comfy. I will toil at the easel ~ you just relax and watch the show and enjoy the music "A Blank Canvas," generously allowed by Afantomlym (.com).

  • Wow, that was fantastic. I went to your website and recognized the cow painting on the far left of your banner but could not quite place where I had seen it - Pastel Magazine top 100 issue? Anyway, great work.

  • Hi,

Thanks so much for your comment. The cow on my website is also featured in the June 2008 issue of the Pastel Journal in an article titled "Animal Attraction." I'm guessing that may be where you recognize him from. He's a sweetheart who lives just down the lane from me :).

    Cheers,

    Sandy.

  • what sort of pastels were you using to get such detail?

  • Hi,

Thanks for posting. I use quite a combination of pastels, generally starting out with Nupastels then switching to Diane Townsends and Unisons. For the really soft creamy stuff, I'll use Schminckes and Sennelier pastels.

  • Just brilliant work! Your use of the red ground was just perfect and the transitions were magic. I look forward to many more!

  • Oooh, I'm liking that word "brilliant" :). I have a few more in the works. I hope you'll have a chance to stop by when I get them posted. Thank you for the nice comment.
