Charlie Pellet, the voice of the newer MTA Subway trains montaged to announce each subway line.

Totally irrelevant montage I strung together.

Yes, B and D are unclear, but the sole recordings I found were of less-than-clear quality.

UPDATE: All -- as of today, June 26, 2010 -- this is officially outdated. The W and V trains are no longer with us, and the M is now an orange 6th Avenue line.

  • they should make the B go on the West End Line to Coney Island again and use the 63rd Street line to 21st street in Queens again while the D should go back to the Brighton Line as the Local and the Q should be a weekday only train down 6th Avenue and be the express on the Brighton line.

  • Where's the 8 train? Is there one? If not, why skip a number?

  • @TGoodman To me, the V and W trains are very useful because they help three trains that travel to and from Brooklyn respectively. If Astoria riders needs a faster service to Queens, they can use the W train for example, since the N is from Brooklyn. Despite the N being express and the W local.

Also, they should extend the G train back to 71st Avenue during evenings, late nights and weekends. Riders need a further service to Queens so they can change for the G train at 4 Av-9 St from the N or R.

  • @dfreshofsicf but, Charlie only says the transfers for the numbered lines only. So probably when the (7) went on the R142 and went to Court Square. Transfer is available to the E,G, & M trains.

  • @G1Ravage and the 7 train uses the same voice as the (1) (2) (3)

  • That's one big train station...

  • Now all we need to do is get MTA to connect the Lafayette Avenue (A,C) & Fulton Street (G) stations with the Atlantic Avenue-Pacific Street Station, and make it one complex and rename it Atlantic Center (2,3,4,5,A,B,C,D,G,N,Q,R). Just like what they did for Jay Street-Borough Hall (A,C,F) and Lawrence Street Station (N,R), and connect those stations together & turned it into Jay Street-MetroTech (A,C,F,N,R)

  • lol which station is this LOL

  • You guys know he's actually English? Married an American woman and learnt the General American accent.

There's an old article online from NY Press that has his story in it, if you type his name in the search box.
